While both the 1968 Dodge HEMI Super Bee and the 1971 Chevrolet Corvette LS6 454 were factory rated at the same horsepower (425hp), the Mopar outran the lighter Vette. Competing in the Pure Stock Drags event at Mid-Michigan Motorplex, both cars ran better 1/4 mile times than showroom new. Of course, both are enhanced, but the rules only allow mods that people would normally do on a proper stock rebuild.
So what do you guys think allowed the Super Bee to outran the Corvette?
