Rescued Original “999 Petty Blue” 1968 Plymouth Road Runner

original 999 paint code plymouth road runner 383 4-speed

As you may know back in 1968 to get your Mopar painted in Petty Blue you had to make a special order for “999” paint code. That is exactly what the original owner of this recently rescued from the barn 1968 Plymouth Road Runner did. The muscle car is in pretty rough shape, but the guy who rescued it actually drove it to the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals event in Rosemont, IL. So, working 383 V8 and a 4-speed tranny plus the build sheet where you can see the “999” Petty Blue paint code is more than enough to consider restoring this 1968 Plymouth Road Runner to its original glory.
