When it comes to classic Mustangs, most people would consider the Boss 9 cars to be the holy grail, but this 428 Super Cobra Jet 1970 Mustang Mach 1 Twister Special is a real gem as well. The Twister Special editions were one year only, with a total of 96 cars produced. The order was all of them to be painted in Grabber Orange, identically equipped with the focus being on performance rather than luxury.
However, there were not enough 428 Super Cobra Jet engines available, so only 48 Twister Special Mustangs got fitted with it and half of these came with the close ratio 4-speed manual transmission and 3.91 Traction-Lok rear axle. These 1970 Mach 1 cars are rare to see even on the internet and specially restored to concourse quality like the example featured.
