Owner and builder of the one and only 2006 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR is Al Schlafer who runs an Auto Body shop with his son Dan. The muscle car was originally a GT Mustang which one of Al's customers brought to the shop after a pretty bad accident more than 10 years ago.

As you already figured this is a custom built Shelby Mustang tribute as there was no GT500KR produced in 2006, but I believe you'll agree that Al and Dan have done a tremendous job. And it's not all about the looks, the 2006 Shelby GT500KR sports an all aluminum 5.4 liter supercharged Ford V8 capable of 850hp.
