While few shops already had a chance to dyno test the 2020 Shelby GT500, team Fathouse Fabrications just brought in the newest Mustang for baseline testing. Running on 93 Octane the stallion made 685 horsepower to the wheels and 595 pounds of torque.
The new Shelby GT500 engine is advertised as 760hp at the crank, so numbers seems to be right. We do the math considering 10-12% drivetrain loss as the new Tremec 7-speed DCT is quite efficient and according to Ford drivetrain loss is only 11% compared to the 15% we are used to.
Either way, as you are about to see in the video the 2020 Shelby GT500 sounds awesome and we can't wait to see this beast modified and tuned by FatHouse Fabrication. Lund Racing managed to squeeze 803whp by doing E85 tune and few light enhancements, so it seems like the new Mustang GT500 has a lot of potential.
