SS 396 Camaro Takes on 429 CJ Mustang on the 1320

Today we have another epic 1/4 mile race from the Pure Stock Drags event that takes place at the Mid Michigan Motorplex every September. We have a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS fitted with the mighty 396 L78 engine factory rated at 375 horsepower controlled by 4-speed manual.

Its opponent is a very rare 429 Cobra Jet powered 1971 Ford Mustang Coupe producing 370hp sent through C6 Automatic trans. As some of you know modifications at Pure Stock Drags are very limited so the 1/4 mile race is very close to what you would have seen back in the day.
