the legend of sox and martin

Born and raised in North Carolina, Ronnie Sox and Buddy Martin met at the drag strip in 1961 as competitors both racing a 409 powered Chevrolet Impalas. Few years later they teamed up and the legend of Sox & Martin was born. They did race a 427 powered A/FX Mercury Comet as well before the proven winners switched to Plymouth and obtained a rock star status. Check out the NHRA video to see some great footage from the glorious days of Sox & Martin at the drag strip.
