The 1978-1979 Dodge Lil’ Red Express models are favorite to many gearheads and with a little more than 7,000 trucks built in total, these are rare as well. While the Dodge Lil’ Red Express trucks came from the factory with a 360 engine, this 1979 build sports a 408 V8 dressed with forged crank and pistons, Trick Flow heads, hydraulic flat tappet camshaft from Cam Motion, Edelbrock intake and Brawler 750 double pumper carb.
The 408 engine has been dynoed at 504 horsepower and 518 pounds of torque controlled by 727 transmission with 3,000 stall converter and Trans-Go shift kit and 3.55 geared 9.25-inch rear. Now that you know the specs, watch this wicked Dodge Lil’ Red Express burning rubber.
