426 hemi vs 426 max wedge mopar 1/4 mile race

A 1971 Plymouth Cuda lines up against a 1963 Plymouth Savoy for one of the most epic Mopar 1/4 mile races I have seen in years. If the 426 HEMI vs 426 MAX WEDGE battle does not sound epic enough for you, wait until you see their ET's.

Both Dave Dudek driving the 426 HEMI powered 1971 Plymouth Cuda and Ed Cook behind the wheel of the 1963 Plymouth Savoy fitted with Super Stock (Max Wedge) 426 are regular at the F.A.S.T. drag racing events. In case you are not familiar with the rules, the cars must have stock appearance and stock size tires with certain performance upgrades being allowed.

With that being said, the Mopars still rely mainly on old school tech, while being as quick as modern day factory built race cars. Considering their trap speed and 1/4 mile times, I think it is realistic to assume these muscle cars are in the 800hp range.
