Offered with the 383 V8 as a standard engine and 426 HEMI as an option, the Plymouth Road Runner was named car of the year for 1969 by Motor Trend. The introduced in mid-year A12 optioned Road Runners became one of the fastest muscle cars ever produced.

A little over 1,400 Plymouth Road Runner muscle cars were optioned with the A12 package, which consist of 440 Big Block 6BBL engine (3x2 barrel Holley carbs), Dana 60 rear with 4.10 gears, Black lift-off fiberglass hood and 15x6 Black steel wheels.
